Resolution and TransAction 2030 Plan Final Project List for all of the
details.
Washington Post Radio (107.7 FM/1500 AM) Interview with Chairman Chris Zimmerman and Vice Chairman Martin Nohe, 9/18/06 to discuss the TransAction 2030
Plan and the upcoming General Assembly special session on transportation.
TransAction 2030, sponsored by the Northern Virginia
Transportation Authority, is a regional transportation planning effort to update Northern Virginia’s
long range transportation plan.
What is Northern Virginia
Transportation Authority (NVTA) and what is its purpose? NVTA was created by the Virginia General
Assembly in 2002 and replaces the Transportation Coordinating Council
(TCC) of Northern Virginia. NVTA is charged with developing a regional transportation plan covering the
Counties of Arlington, Fairfax, Loudoun, and Prince William and the cities of Alexandria, Fairfax, Falls
Church, Manassas, and Manassas Park.
As part of this charge, NVTA has authorized a work plan for updating the Northern
Virginia 2020 Transportation Plan, which was approved by Resolution
in December 1999. TransAction 2030 is that work plan!
